Hi all ... My wife and I are heading to Sydney for a holiday week in June. Where are the best places to see photography on display? Where are the best 2nd hand equipment shops? Where are the best trad photography consumables suppliers (like Vanbar in Melbourne)?
Cheers
Greg

Vanbar are are also here, but I imagine less stock. Mainline in Crows Nest has specialty stuff (google them). European Camera Store in Drummoyne and Fotoreisel in Kent St have decent 2nd hand stock. Remember to 'aggle.
Point Light specialises in showing B+W work, check their site. Aust Centre for Photography might be worth a visit depending on who is showing what at the time...

Don't know the galleries so much, but will second Mainline in Crows Nest, and ECS in Drummoyne....they probably have the most. BTW, is going to Sydney a holiday!?

Stills at Paddington

Dead Link Removed at Paddington may be worth checking out. Currently they have a show by Blue Note photographer Francis Wolff

Josef Levobic can be worth keeping an eye on

Thanks all ... Yes Tony Sydney will definitely be a holiday for us ... It's my wife's 50th birthday and we are going to do a few things we've been putting off for a while ... like climb the bridge, go for a meal at Doyles and see James Morrison live at the Basement.
Goldie ... We would have really enjoyed Francis Wolfe's work at Blender but going by the information on their web site it will be finished by the time we get to Sydney.
Cheers

Hi Greg,
As it happens I will have an exhibition running at Meyer Gallery in Darlinghurst from June 9 - June 28.
I will probably start a new thread to publicise this in the Australia group in a couple of days. I will be in the gallery on the weekend of June 19/20 if this coincides with your visit.
