Wish I had the money. Barely getting by on my disability income.

BTW, a vintage "Improved Seneca" 5x7 went for ~$350, and this camera looks to be a much better camera/shutter combo. A few folks really had that hots for that Seneca! Don't ask me why, as the one linked in the OP has both front and back movements, and appears to be in better overall condition. Along with the better shutter/lens combo.

Doesn't hurt to keep an eye on that Goodwill site. The folks who work there often don't know what they have, and the average bidder has little interest in such camera gear.

They had this Rolleicord listed last week. Looks like a good value if it's clean and works.

Looks like one, but I don't think it is. The tilt guide on the rear standard of the Tachihara are curved; this model has straight guides.

Still, looks like rosewood, rotating back plane, etc. Makes me wonder why someone gave it to Goodwill vs. selling on CL or another site, unless they're going to claim an outrageous deduction on their taxes for the donation.

From what I understand a lot of the good gear at ShopGoodwill is donated by the family of those who passed away.

Sure looks like an 8x10 Deardorff, with a 4X5" reducing back to me. I used to have the 8x10 and it's worth buying if you are looking one of these. And a 210mm G Claron in Copal shutter.

Look them up on Ebay for current values.

I think you may be right. However, the knobs to raise the front standard don't match the stock Deardorff pix I've found. Wonder if the owner swapped them out?

Looks Japanese, maybe a 5x7 with a 4x5 back. Don't think it's a Deardorff.

Definitely not a Deardorff. Hardware is chrome plated Dorffs r nickle plated n the knobs r not right! Also not an 810 looks like a 57 with a 45 rotating reducing back.

Might be a Raj, made in India and sold in the US in the 70s. I recall 4X5 5X7 and 8X10 were sold, vauge memory of being advertised on Cambridge on Pop Photo and Modern Photo, I reviews were ok.

At one time Rajah view cameras were distributed in the US by Jack Callahan of Kyvyx Korporation in New Jersey. They look like a copy of a Deardorff but they are made out of teak instead of mahogony. Rajah made 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 wood field cameras and accessories. The 8x10 had 33 inches of bellows extension and was originally priced at $795. Gary Shank (gshank@why.net)

I've used a Rajah 8x10. Gearing was rough, and I had to use a C-clamp to keep the front standard from tilting forward with a heavy lens (45cm Voitlander APO-Skopar process lens - no shutter). However, it did allow me to start making photographs in 8x10 and for that, I loved it. I think I paid $600.00 from NY Lens and Repro about two years ago. If you are already into LF and think that this will be a cheap Deardorff copy...the emphasis is on "cheap." Save your $500.00 towards a higher quality 8x10 at some point down the road. But if it is a choice between starting to make photographs now and waiting a year....put your money down on the counter and dive right in, the water's fine. Benjamin Marks (bm4f@virginia.edu)

I believe the cameras with chromed hardware were sold as Prinzdorff. All the Rajahs (8x10's) I have handled have been brass finished. They work (usually need some help) but don't expect it to function like a real Deardorff.

The pictures are too small and the price is too high, but my first thought was that it's likely a Rajah. Yes, the chromed hardware also makes you think Tachihara, but without detailed images it's difficult to tell.

I actually made a bit on it over the weekend, but now the price has more than doubled.
