In my mind the advantage of the X pro is the ability to use a large number of prime lens if you don't mind manual focus, Canon FD, Minolta MD, Pentax K and M42 come to mind. On the other hand if you are looking for AF, Canon has a very wide range of lens not to mention third party lens. Canon with a 18 to 55 kit lens makes a very casual shooter kit good for travel. Last is color, as I understand it Fuji sensors are a little different from other CMOS sensors, the RBG pixels are random which some say makes for a better color palette. From what I've seen Fuji color is very good. Don't know which has better high ISO performance, the X pro with the Canon 1.4 ought to do well in low light situations, you can get buy with an ISO of 400 while with Canon and a kit lens you would need to use 3200, 1.4 vs 5.6.
