Went down to Lincoln yesterday and stopped to see Suzanne's show at the Workspace Gallery. The installation was very good and the lighting was excellent.

The prints are simply beautiful. The size (20x24?) really allows one to feel the emotion of the prints. The images (for me) have a somewhat melancholy or bittersweet feel. They recall the magic and mystery of what is was like to be a child and how short that time is in our lives. Suzanne has a wonderful ability to capture those moments that define the quirky and sometimes awkward, often times eloquent moments of a child's summer.

The show made me appreciate the fact my wife and I had children later in our marriage and that in middle age I can recapture some of that magic through the eyes and experiences of my own kids.

Thanks for sharing Suzanne.

Jim... thank you for your thoughts, it means a lot to share work with my fellow APUGgers, and to hear that you enjoyed the work is deeply appreciated. Thanks for taking the time to make these kind comments.

I had my kids later in life as well, and I think it's part of what motivates me... just knowing how brief a childhood can be to each of us.

I was in Omaha for work today and snuck down to Lincoln to see the show. I really enjoyed it, particularly the show's theme. I liked the cornfield tunnel and the elastic frog. I had written off ever printing at 20X24 but after seeing how well it worked, I will have to reconsider. The only thing missing with the presentation was that there was not any information at the show about the artist and the pictures. It is really great to see the work of the people whose comments you read on APUG.
