Super8.tv: Rumors of a merger of several film companies

According to the super8.tv (link), "rumors are growing that the merger of several internationally active companies in the photographic sector could soon lead to the premiere of further Super 8 film types."

Has anyone else heard of these rumors? Which companies those might be?

We would also need affordable labs + scanning. I didn't understand back then how lucky we were having Alhoslab in town ..

Later this year I will attempt to launch just that. An affordable Super 8 process and scan service. There will be a Kickstarter so stay tuned if you love Super 8, as I do.

Yeah, Alhoslab was fun & quite an experience. I had the chance to hang around and occasionally help Antti with some things. He had plans to build a new, more compact film processing machine but unfortunately that wasn't meant to be. BTW, such film processing machines can nowadays be ordered from Ukraine

Yes I visited his original lab too one time fetching my film. Can you link to those processing machines, would be interesting to see.

(hmm, how hard could it be to build a machine that pulls film with leader through rollers.. no, no, no, don't)

It's the Orwo/ Inoviscoat merger that's being referred to, I think.
