Do Bay 1 flters come in various sizes? I have researched this on the net, and looked through the forums and can't work out if all I need is to bid on any Bay 1 filter set for this camera, or a specific diameter/size.

Ever since my seagull died, I have wanted another basic vintage TLR....got bid frenzy, but what the hell!!:D

I would appreciate if anyone knows what diameter I would need for the Super Ricohflex (Camera not arrived yet), and to clarify if I could just bid on any.

Many Thanks. Kal

I think all filters marked Bay 1 or B1 should be the same size. There are also Bay 2 and Bay 3 filters. I think B30 is the same as Bay 1 too.

I have a few Bay 1 filters for my Rolleicord but I also have a Bay 1 to 46mm adaptor. This allows me to use standard 46mm filters which are easier to find and/or cheaper.

EDIT: After doing a search on 'Super Ricohflex' it seems there are two types. The later type does use Bay 1 filters but the earlier models use 36mm push on filters. I assume yours is a later model.

Hmm...I think it is the later model simply because it comes with the autosptop wind on included and a different back door(old one had a simple latch cover for red window, this one has a revolving arrangement...I think),

I assume I can tell its a B1 by the fact that it will a have a bayonet sleeve arrangement on the lens?

Since this is geared front elemnt focusing, I want to make sure that any adaptor does not interfere with the focusing.

Thankyou!

If it's geared front focusing like the first image then I think it's an older push fit design.

The later model shown in the second image has Bay 1 filter receptacles. These cannot rotate because if they did, the square Bay 1 fit lens hoods would not work.

I have a geared front focus Ricohflex at home (not a Super though) and I'm 99% sure it does not have Bay 1 fittings. I will check it later.

Like the first picture, so its the old model. Thanks for being so helpful Steve. Are the push fit filters easy to find (I am interested in orange, red and a dioptre..). Kal
