two questions for hive mind

shooting 6x9 - schneider say 17mm of vertical movement at f22 - my camera does +15mm / -10mm - I'm assuming that 17mm is either way - +/-17mm or is that wrong? How much movement do I lose by shooting at f16 or f11?

What is the filter size for this lens? Schneider say 49mm but I have a 49mm UV filter lying around house and that's too small so what do i actually need?

https://www.schneideroptics.com/inf...ormat_lenses/super-angulon/data/5.6-47mm.html

thanks in advance - these questions seem mind bendingly obvious but just not obvious enough for me.....

You could measure. You could use the list to find my article on center filters, which points out that there are two sizes of Schneider's CF II to fit the two sizes of 47/5.6 SA. You could use the list to find more and better Schneider documentation, which will teach you that early 47/5.6 SA's tale 49 mm filters and late ones take 52 mm filters.

The answers are there, you just have to bend over and pick them up.

Ah so there are 2 versions of the 47mm 5.6 mc - one with 49mm and one 52mm filter size. All i could find was Schneider's archived info which doesnt match this lens.

My forum search game is weak.

superstar - thanks Dan. I ended up with a Silvestri but I have only shot 16mm for ages and before than 35mm compacts so I'm totally ignorant.

I really should man up and educate myself.
