I,m using a sunpac auto 322 with a yashica matt 124 and have tried multiple exposure settings and different settings on the flash but always come up with a negative that is completley clear with no image at all. The flash seems to be working fine at different settings. Any ideas?

Thanks
Tony

Blank negative means no exposure. I'm assuming the camera works fine normally?

Any chance the camera is not set to X Sync?

If it's set to X Sync. Mount the flash open the back of the camera. While looking from the back fire the shutter. Do you see the flash?

I don't think I had the the lever down quite far enough or something was sticking a bit . I tried looking through it with the back open as you advised and tried it then played with the x sync lever a bit then tried again.Huge difference.I'm sure that was the problem. I will post another reply as soon as I process another roll tonight or tomorrow. Thanks a bunch Nick.

I've had both of my Y-Mats' switches held to "X" with gaffer tape for a long, long, time.
