Subject interpretation

Here is a possible idea for 2016 (it may need refining and suggestions welcome), at the start of each month we pick a subject common to most people on the planet, like Weston’s pepper (this could be a starter) and before the end of each month we put a picture on the gallery of our own interpretation of that subject. The photographer who gets the highest number of responses to their image picks the subject for the next month and so on.

APUG has something along those lines with Monthly Shooting Assignment. (there was a url link here which no longer exists)

The difference that I see here is the OP is suggesting to take the subject of an existing famous photograph and give our own creative interpretation of the same subject.
