Yes, this is THE number one stupidest (and easiest C41 question ever): When I'm done and putting the cut film into the Print File sleeve, B&W is easy to tell the emulsion side because one is flat and the other shines, but color negatives seem to shine on both sides (at least to my eyes). So the usual suggestions aren't working. Appreciate a little enlightenment. Only bad thing is I actually have my know-nothing name on this post.

On the other hand, proving that "any fool can develop film", I just finished 18 rolls run through a Jobo 2500 tank (3 reels with 2 rolls each) 6 rolls at a time in 3 tankfulls using Tetenal C41 with Kodak Portra 400.... and it seems to work like a dream. Is it easier than B&W? Yeah... probably. But B&W isn't hard.. just more sensitive in requiring more adjustments to time and more choices for chemistry.

Anon Ymous: Thanks for that. Now for the stupidest follow-up question ever: Base side view is than with emulsion side down?

Yep.

In the printing world, you are looking at the film RRED - Right Reading Emulsion Down.
