After taking (too long) of a hiatus, ƒ/D is back! And for my inaugural post, I've put together an Artist Feature on Jean-Christophe Denis. JC has some great work involving motion to check out. These are not new techniques, just wonderfully done:

Let me know what you think!

Nice I like the light painting technique. Interesting concept.

Glad you liked the piece! However, it's not light painting. JC used a lot of strobe power to freeze the movements, and exposed it all on Fuji FP-100b. For the self portraits on the bicycle, the streaks of light are just the city lights as he rode his bike around town (approx 40 minute exposures). Hope this info helps with the technical understanding.

Cheers!

Awesome stuff! I especially love the "nudes." Beautiful, haunting and inspiring.

On a side note, I'm so happy you have started back up! I always loved the quality of your articles and the inspiration that they consistently provided me.

Cheers!
