Whilst browsing through a local bookstore's sale items on a table at the front of the store, I came across this little picture book.

The back cover of this Terrail publication, states:-

"Struggle

Men's actions and commitments, seen through images of the main international conflicts since the inter-war years. Street fighting, resistance, militancy, wars, a survey, in black and white and in colour, of outstanding moments in photojournalism, as covered by the greatest photoreporters."

Only 64 pages in total, of which, from page 5 to 61 there is a single picture to each page, generally, except for a couple of double page gutter bleed spreads.

Quite nice for $5.00 (Australian). Copyrighted 1998, no ISBN or anything remotely connected to any library system.

An interesting thing is that the book is 200mm x 200mm square, yet it appears that every image was shot on 35mm and the pictures are printed with what appears to be full frame printing, at least the proportions are!

Robert Capa, Spain, 1935, appears to be the earliest image, with Luc Delahaye, Chechnya, 1995 the latest.

Ray, just that the format of the book is square, yet all of the pictures are rectangular.

Didn't know about the others, I'll look out for them.

Mick.
