I decided to scan a few shots and why not, post them here. I have too many and have no idea what to do with them. Instagram doesn't help. Nothing helps. It's all useless in the end.

I have no idea why I'm even photographing. What's the purpose?

Those are nice photos, though. I like the snow scenes especially.

We all want to say something. Usually photographing one wants to say "look at the world that I see", "look what I have seen, what I live(d)". All in unique, similar with past, but unique for every one. Everybody has a main role in his own life. It makes sense as much as life makes sense. If you say that life make no sense - then photographing also make no sense (for you). But if life has a meaning - then photographing makes sense as well.
 
Good comments- I really enjoyed looking at these pictures...they reminded me yet again of how worthwhile the pursuit of photography can be. Carpe diem as they say!

I fully agree.
But i give in myself very seriously in this photography thing (ever since I was 16) and I have a hard time understanding why. I didn’t even know who was hcb, let alone all the other gang. It was out of pure love for of taking shots and printing, as for all of us.

What’s the Quest about? Praise? Recognition? Pure loss of money, or actually a diversion from other more expensive hobbies such as boating and fast cars?

I’ll never really know. But I find I’m losing too much time into this. And I haven’t even sold my soul to the devil although it may be hard to believe.

Ok, new question; who has sold their soul to the devil?

More pictures I take over years on the street, less I have to share.
Why are they taken? I think it is more odd to walk and not to take pictures
 
 
 
Are you really getting reticulation? (Or is it a scanner artifact)... not to disdain scanning but just... it's hard to get reticulation for real and if you did I'd like to know your secret.

Pics #2,#3 ,#5 look like some kind of reticulation, or mighty strange grain. I like the photos never the less.
 
Yes, tmax3200 and foma400 with 092 filter.
Sure, somewhat emphasized by scanning but definitely present grain.

My son was in the darkroom tonight. It’s refreshing to see someone else’s work in the darkroom, instead of it just being my stuff for a change.

Actually it was nice kicking back and doing nothing but rock the fixer tray a bit.

A bottle of nice beer could occupy that hand just as easily and your son can agitate his own fixer. It builds character!

Nice photographs ( as usual ) thanks for sharing !
Yeah, it is pretty useless, and there really isn't much of a point.
I ask myself that same question every day and every day I find something I want to make a photograph of, and see what it looks like.
And when I get in the darkroom or peek at a sun print or retina print I still get goosebumps when I see an image appear in the tray
or the film tank or rinsed off as a blueprint or see the sun stain.
I can't really think of any other reason to do it other than its fun and a way I can just be in the zone and not really think about anything else.

Yes, but then, like me, you might end up with over 1000 developed negatives you still haven’t contact printed... and that is the key point where you ask yourself “wtf?”
