Les is giving a street photography workshop during Pride week in Toronto. Included in the workshop will be press passes to al events.

heres the synopsis:

The object of the Pride Workshop is to teach participants how to approach a photographic assignment of telling an in depth story of events especially where people are the central story. During the first two days of the workshop we will spend some time on the streets learning how to make candid photographs, as well as set up situations relevant to the story we have chosen to tell. There are many daily events that provide ideal situations for this aspect of the workshop. The remainder of the daytime of the first two days will be spent at Elevator where Les will critique participants portfolio’s and give guidance on selecting work to produce a series of images and produce a coherent story. Each evening we will be given access by press pass to events likely to be colourful and offer challenging subject matter, probably in quite low lighting. Les has vast experience in this type of photography and will demonstrate his approach and methods and guide you through the potential pitfalls you are likely to meet.

There is less than a week left for les's Street workshop. He has 3 press passes left so we could use that many more sign-ups. The Press Passse are what make shooting the pride fest interesting. They allow access beyound the barriers for the parades, and behind the scenes for most everything else.

If you're interested check out the site (its been updated) Dead Link Removed and or download the flier (its new) Dead Link Removed.

I couldn't recommend this workshop enough, Les is absolutely amazing out in the street (and everywhere else for that matter) and could charm the honey from the bees.
He has this way of engaging people in conversation and then having you do the same.. subsequently leading you you taking photo's of people and in situations you would never have dreamed before ..
I really could watch him for hours, but somehow I think he'd get tired of me hanging around!

Enjoy those of you who are signed up already.. wish I was there for it.

Les's workshops (he had 3) at the APUG Conference all sold out and his Street photography WS was the most popular. In other words, What Sile Said...

Agreed. I took one of Les' street workshops and it was fantastic. He doesn't come around that often, so when he does, grab the opportunity!

I took Les' Street Photography workshop two years ago at the APUG Conference, I enjoyed every second of it. You won't be disappointed.

Should one actually pay to see Les in a leather thong and chaps, spiked neck collar and dotted in sparkling glitter? Dunno .... :surprised:

Regards, Art.

Oh definitely.. it's more than worth it.. trust me
