Hi,

I've been having problems of streaking in my scans:

Dead Link Removed

and this one is real bad:

Dead Link Removed

This has appeared on multiple negs. I'm guessing this is a scanner issue. I'm using an Agfa Duoscan 1200T with v3.6 of the FOTOLOOK PS software.

This has appeared on both of the types of film I have been scanning Fuji 160 NPS 220 and Kodak Portra 160 NC 220.

It hasn't appeard on any reversal rolls. All the film has been processed at the same lab...

I've had similar problems with my Agfa Duoscan scanner. Long story short, I finally replaced the SCSI card with a different Adaptec PCI SCSI card. Viola'! The problem disappeared.

I can't say that will cure your problem but SCSI cards are pretty cheap these days so you may wish to give it a try. Also you did not say what OS you are using, but you may wish to look for an updated driver. If you are using an OEM driver on a PC try letting Windows supply the drive. Remove the hardware driver and re-install.

Check your cable connection. Even though it isn't necessary with this device, you may wish to install a termination resistor on the scanner if you don't have one.

If all of that fails upgrade your scanner.

Good luck,

Don Bryant
