Straps for MF cameras

Of my MF cameras that require unique straps, Hasselblad and Rolleiflex, my solution has been to simply take old strap to shoemaker, who attaches connectors to new strap.
Even when using straps, I wouldn’t trust them for full support of MF camera, since most of them, being bulky and heavy, have a tendency to swing and bump into other solid objects. Best to carry in hands, or if not likely to be used, a fitted hard camera case.
For me straps are an added safety precaution, just in case hands fail. Sometimes I use a monopod, but feel that walking around cradling camera with monopod but no safety net (a strap) is a bit too risky.

1- buy the proper connector from bay,
2- go to a leather workshop, shoe maker or saddle maker and ask them to cut a strap of leather of your like.
3- put things together...
4- grease from time to time...

+1 for Peak Design. I use a lot of different straps, including Luigi, but the Peak is both universal and versatile. You can get one set of removable neck and/or wrist straps and put the anchor connectors on each of your cameras. I have yet to see a camera this system won't work with.

I looked at their website. It does not look like the have anything that would connect to a lug like the medium -format cameras being discussed, only if you want to attach a strap to the tripod screw.

The small connector (the black and red plastic disc) connects to the factory connector. You have to have that to make it work.

That's what I use. I had an original Mamiya RZ strap but it lacked any kind of padding. One thing that I like about the Op/Tech is being able to just connect the two bottom straps and leave the padded part off. If I'm shooting handheld I feel it gives me a little more security without having the whole strap around my neck. It's how I use it 75% of the time even my 35mm cameras have this strap attached.

From what I have seen so far there are 4 different design approaches to fasten a strap to those bolts or studs (or whatever you call them).

I use the Op/Tech system on almost all of my too many cameras. What is nice is that you can buy just the short strap part that connects to the camera body and have just one large foam/strap section.
