My scanner is acting weird. It will scan the first few frames fine, then it will start adding a line right through the frame, This is 35mm film on an Epson V550. What is going on?

Ok - I cleaned the sensors and it went away. I don't know if it is because I hadn't used the scanner in awhile (so it cooled down), or if that fixed it. Either way, hopefully that means the CCD is not bad. I bought the scanner refurbished from Epson, so it makes me nervous.

Keep the top of the glass base clean as well as the transparency adapter glass. Sometimes you have to remove the base, clean the under side of the glass, the mirrors and front of the lens. The rear of the lens requires the removal of the sensor which requires realigning the sensor on reinstallation which is not a novice job.
