I'm just now getting near the end of my first batch of Pyrocat HD that I ordered from the Formulary. Needless to say it is still in the original bottles. I've just been sqeezing the air out of the bottles as I go. Anyone have any other suggestions on better ways to store the solutions since you use such little at a time. Also, is there a way to tell if the Pyrocat is bad before using it (ex.. yellowing, dosn't turn amber when mixed).. etc? Thanks!
Brian, Pyrocat goes a sort of reddish brown if it goes off. Why don't you get some small bottle and split the stock solution of part A up into smaller batches.

No Brian reddish brown as a stock solution, my stock solution went off here in Turkey while I was in the UK for 6 weeks. That was in full and half full small bottles, but over 18months old, and I returned with ample supplies of fresh solutions.
Part B is a carbonate solution and keeps far better. So less need to take precautions.
I keep mine in a one liter glass bottle with no other precautions. I've had it last 8-9 months with no problem. As the glass does not allow oxygen exchange thorough the sides and bottom, I have not worried about the small amount of air actually inside the bottle.

That's a good suggestion Gadget. I had meant to do that myself but in my rush to pack and leave the UK I just looked up the page on Unblinkingeye and forgot.
I purchased my Pyrocat-HD from the Formulary in Glycol. I found that recommendation on this site far before I ventured into Pyrocat. So mine should still be good to go, but I will purchase a few dark brown glass bottles to keep the solutions in as a further precaution. Thanks everyone for the help!
