I just "inherited" a large amount, for me, of photo paper. I was storing my paper outside of the darkroom, but I am now running out of space. Is there any reason why I should not store this paper in my darkroom?
The follow-up question to this is whether there is any reason not to keep negatives in the darkroom.
The fumes from sulfide toners, like the classic two bath bleach and redevelop sepia toners, can fog light sensitive materials. If you do that sort of thing in the darkroom, then you should not store your papers there. Selenium toning shuold not cause you any problems. Since you can do your toning in room light, I do all my toning outside the darkroom near an open window.
