Hi,
how to store p-aminophenol? In the refrigerator? Air-sealing the bottle?

Just put it in a jar with a tightly fitting cap and store in a cupboard. Organic substances are generally best kept away from UV light, so don't store in a windowsill.

Couldn't say; apparently it oxidizes fairly readily - sorry, I missed that initially. According to a EU document I have here it's supposed to be stable for "months". I guess refrigeration might help, as would storage in an airtight container with as little excess air as possible.

I found it to not last well at all. Most other developing agents last for many years in my experience.

It is readliy soluble in glycol so you can make a stable solution of P-aminophenol in glycol and it will last for years.
However, alternatively you can just make a bunch of sealed bottles of Rodinal and have them stored for years to come.

250g was the smallest amount of p-aminophenol I could buy. This means I would get 50l of Pyrocat-PC 😮

Is Paracetamol available in reagent grade? I thought it's only available in pills.

It's available in reagent grade, but pills are fine for developers. If purification is desired, dissolve the paracetamol from the pills and recrystallize it; this will get rid of the fillers.

So are the fillers insoluble? Completely?

Yeah, they're usually something like calcium carbonate. They're insoluble enough to leave you with sufficiently pure paracetamol afterwards.
Heck, the stuff is sufficiently pure if you leave the fillers in; it just looks a little funny.

I have p-Aminophenol that’s a couple of years old and it doesn't appear any different nor to have lost any activity compared to when it was delivered - if that helps. (I have not conducted any assays though.) It has been kept in sealed glass jars, in the dark.

After I managed to find some in good condition after not being able to find any for quite some time, I'm storing mine in a super dark glass jar filled with argon and wrapped in aluminum foil to be certain no light is getting in. I had a bit that was beige in color, and after maybe 4 months it turned dark purple after being stored in the same glass jar. I added the argon by putting it in a much larger container, and filling that with argon from wine preserver. I let it sit to hopefully let all the air rise out of it, and then sealed the jar. I hope this will do the trick.
