Are you 125% sure no cleaning chemical will be spilled on any of it?

Many cleaners, probably most, maybe all? have solvent action. And most are in liquid form. Meaning evaporation is a possibility. And when something evaporates, it can then condense in a new location.

Why risk it?

Well, I sure wouldn't do it. Not even if you moved all the cleaning supplies to lower shelves and put the camera gear above. While we're on the subject, your misses doesn't store non compatible cleaners together I hope.

There are three possible solutions:
  1. Move your equipment to another closet or under the bed.
  2. Move to another place where you have the closet room you need and maybe room for a darkroom.
  3. Replace your spouse.
YMMV

Some volatile compounds can damage lens coatings. I learned the hard way. Too long a story. Just trust me.

Seems small. There is room for only 20 or 25 cameras in there.

It would probably be best if your gear were stored somewhere else, but if you can't, could you get her to store her cleaning chemicals on a bottom shelf? That way spills would not be as dangerous to your equipment........Regards!
