As I have mentioned previously, I am going to be in New Mexico for a week at the first of next month. I am taking a large quantity of film with me and have been thinking about how to store it. I am not taking development gear with me, as I am told the water around Ruidoso might not be conducive out of the tap and I would rather spend my time shooting instead of processing.

So, here is the solution I have come up with. I will take one of the black plastic bags that paper comes in with me for each day I will be gone. As I shoot rolls, I will put them in the bag and at the end of the day, seal it up in a bundle with gaffers tape. The bundle will go into one of those 6 pack collapsible coolers. (To sorta maintain temperature stability without much variation.) Then, when I get back to Memphis, I will unseal them and development insanity will ensue.

Does this sound like a good plan? Any suggestions.

Zip lock bags are easier to reseal, and are cheap from the dollar store. Bring a cooler and a refreeze-able ice pack. Throw the icepack in the motel fridge every night or two. Keep all your film in the cooler. A blanket keeps the warm air in the car away from the cooler. An old winter jacket or parka works better, but people from Memphis don't usually own one.
