I went into Samy's 10 years ago and they said film was dead. Even though all their stuff downstairs was pretty much film supplies lol.

Both Samys on Fairfax and FreeStyle are great film and paper suppliers. FreeStyle has a larger selection of papers and chemicals. FreeStyle is geared to the black & white realm.

Samy's might have some, Freestyle currently shows none in stock at least on their website of used gear. You might be better off arranging a purchase online for an FM2 and then sent to you in LA in time for when you'll be there. KEH has three nice ones right now but a WTB in the Classifieds here would likely score one as good but cheaper.

there was a place in hollywood that had lots of used gear (can't remember the name but I think it was on Highland, west side of street). Their prices were HIGH like everyone else in L.A. who things their yard sale items should sell for new prices

I've not been in Samy's for quite a while, but they would be my first choice.
A visit to Freestyle would be worthwhile too, if you can squeeze it in. Film and paper nirvana.

thank you all.
i'll try to visit these places... But i'm a beginner in film, and i would like to see especially a place where i can buy my first USED camera film.
These are the right places?

Keep in mind that LA is a very big city in terms of square miles with not very good public transportation. So plan your travel accordingly.

Both Samy's stores have sparse used selections. I'm not sure Freestyle has a used selection at all but I could be wrong. I just don't recall. Simon's has a bit more. Harry's has a small selection. Forget Bel-Aire. If you're willing to take a drive to Costa Mesa, there's the Used Canera Store. I've never been but I think they have used cameras. After all is said and done, I'd still check out KEH online. Saves the hassle. Could even save on a Hasselblad!

I was in the Used Camera Store several years ago, around the time they were getting started, I think. Looked to be a nice shop. That they are still around probably speaks well. Probably worth a visit, but it's a long drive from L.A. proper, and there is no reasonable public transportation to get there.

For those looking for a used camera in Los Angeles:

The Melrose Trading Post flea market at Fairfax High School (Sundays, on Melrose & Fairfax) usually has a couple used-camera vendors, among other things.

Another option is Bel Air Camera.
