In my surfing to find information on Xtol/Mytol I came across the following article:

Storage life of photographic developers: Phenidone-ascorbic acid, and metol-hydroquinone types

You may find this intgeresting -- or not.

I have seen this article before, but I had forgotten the deatils.
My stock phenidone solution, in alcohol, lasts longer than the water-bissulphite one. I do not know how long (it finishes before exausting, I mix 200cc each time) but for sure longer than 6 weeks.

My stock phenidone fell apart in a matter of hours: 100cc water and 3g phenidone. I like the developer but will try Isopyoprl Alochol and..... how much phenodone do you use for 200cc?

I've mixed it 1% (that's 2g/200cc) but the latest batch is 2% (4g/200cc) - still using it.
I've mixed it stronger since paper dev is ID-62, phenidone based besides the film one (I'm doing some tests with FX-37), so it will last longer.
I mix benzotriazole 2% with alcohol, too.
Try to get the most concentrated alcohol possible.

BTW today I will mix more ID-62.
