Still Playing With Filters!

Finally finished editing this video I made shortly after the red brick filter video. Editing (done properly) can be very time consuming. Tweak here. Tweak there... I was working with HP5 and (long gone) Efke 50, with a green, #44A, no filters, and push development, to see which one gave me the look I was after. I share the results, as well as a toned Cyanotype print. Cheers!

I agree with your findings, Andrew but in some shots taken by themselves I found it very difficult to decide which was best. The "look" was marginally better for me in different filters but not always in the same film so the Wratten 44A wasn't consistently better for the same film but on balance the Wratten 44A "overdid it" slightly for me

Every time you increase HP5's speed and push develop in this video and others you have done I am more impressed by its versatility. In fact so much so, that I think I am going to use at least EI650 or maybe 800 as my standard speed

HP5 seems to shine at higher EI's (especially with some subjects). I do like it at 400 (that's high for me, but can still see ample detail), and even 800 (even higher! subtle detail). 1600 has worked okay, too but, that's the limit for me. 3200? Nope! (nose bleed seating!).

I've had that little level since '93. I bought it when I lived in Japan from a camera shop. Probably can't even get them anymore. I'm surprised I haven't lost it yet!
