I just read that Steve Grimes of www.S.K. Grimes.com fame has passed away. Is this right?

He died some time ago. The company is still going.

Yes, the legend of lens repair has been gone for a year or so. But, as Aggie mentioned, the company continues to operate. Steve appears to have done a good job of passing his skills on to the young guys he had working for him.

that's good to hear. I can't afford new LF lenses so my alternative is to find bargains and have them C.L.A'd by S.K. Grimes or someone

I had a lens repaired after Steve's death. They still do the same superb job. The Master has successfully passed the torch.
