First time I've seen any reference to such an item. Interesting.
Back in 2005 when I was shooting Provia in 4x5, I noticed after processing that each film sheet was edge lettered with a 6 letter sequence. e.g. ADCBCE, ADCBCD etc. Trust me to load my dark slides in the wrong order...

Kind of ancient data back. Even with "random data input"...
I did not have the slightest idea such existed.

much easier to burn in one's copyright info than purchase an embosser and "relief" it on.

You need the appropriate pictorial image density. Something one would not have to bother with when using a relief stamp.

I have one someone gave me. Never used it but we had one with a custom Kodalith negative we used to edge mark our film at a studio I was at.
