hi

i had a macro set that i used for years and somehow i misplaced it
i do have a handle on a replacement set though, it is a 72mm set. i know i will need step up rings ... but i worry about vignetting.

is vignetting an issue when you use step up rings ? i will be stacking a bunch of them to go from 49mm to 72 ...

thanks in advance!

Maybe on a wide angle lens. But if you're going from 49mm to 72mm it shouldn't be an issue. At worse you could get a single ring.

Probably not, unless you have a real wide angle lens. You will probably only need one or two rings, not a bunch.

Not likely; Using a step-down ring is more dangerous.

Exactly, Ed. Going from a 72 lens and choling the light through a 49 filter would a be a nice portrait of vignette.
