Hi all
I want to put an IR Hoya filter on this lens (Fujifilm GW690II), I tried the step ring I have but the part who screw on the lens is not long enough. There is a small part of the hood who stop the ring to go further.

Can I remove this hood? Are there some rings with a longer <<screw-path>>? The only way for now is the put a 67mm (UV) filter before and then, the ring. I prefer to use less than more filters.

Thank you for tips

Well, some people did saw off the hood. The question here is that you are not encountering the hood itself as an obstacle, rather the piece that holds it and covers the shutter and aperture rings. If you compare the GW690 mkI with the mkII/III you will see the difference, the former has them without any covering.

A suggestion I read, is to take any useless filter, remove the glass and just use the metal ring as an extension.

I think it's a good suggestion. I'll see how to remove the glass on it.
Thank you
