Hello. Today I bought a pack of old lenses and I'm pretty happy with the trade. I got very nice soviet lenses in very good condition. I also took this lens, wich has some rust in the blades. I unassembled and cleaned it but don't know how to remove the rust from the blades if possible. The glass is incredible well preserved.

For what I've found it seems to be from the 1930's (http://camera-wiki.org/wiki/Steinheil_serial_numbers). But I can't find any info about this specific lens. Do you think it may have some value in this condition? I don't pretend to sell it, but is nice to know.

Thank you !

Hello tonaka, maybe I'm a couple of months late but you know, better late than never! What I´ve done with success (I'm an amateur at camera repair) when I come across some scratched or rusted blades is first a good lighter fluid cleaning and then with a cotton bud apply some polish compound. I use some cheap compound very liquid and gently do circles. Then rinse in lighter fluid again and thats all.

Bear in mind that I've not polished blades as rusted as the ones you got, but it is worth a try.
Good luck!

I'm afraid this lens is gone. It will stick eventually, and pepper94's suggestion may be the only thing that may save it.

Thank you for your kind advice. Now it's working as a decorative lens in a showcase with other vintage lenses. I'll try to restore it one day.
