Starship darkroom

That is completely awesome!!! :alien:
 
Reminds of of 2001: A Space Odyssey (or perhaps Quark?).
 
Does it make the results any better?

does it eliminate stupid mistakes?
 
I do wonder about it being white - I imagine a dim safelight would seem brighter, though could it also make it less safe?

White is the great colour for a darkroom, unless it isn't light tight.

If you are wondering about reflections, here is mine (with my old enlarger). Note that on the right there is a wall size mirror!

He'd do method printing. Everything is over dodged and burned with a dramatic flair.
 
What if he under dodged and and under burned, would that eliminate the flare?

Uh, all that white is going to cause issues. Darkrooms should be black to dampen reflections.
 
Yes, but where's the darkroom sink, the trays, the archival washer, the drying screens, the dry-mount press, the stock of mount board and frames, etc, etc, ... I see an enlarger but no visible capacity to seriously process and finish enlargements.
 
My darkroom looks more like from the Middle Ages/Merlin's workshop.

About the color--I thought that black darkrooms were considered old-fashioned some 50 years ago. You might need to black out the area around the enlarger, but in general, you want a light colored darkroom to reflect the safelight and create a more pleasant working environment.

My darkroom walls are off white ad that have never caused a problem.

No it won't and no they shouldn't.

White is best. I painted the walls in my old purpose built darkroom white. NO issues, much better visibility under (tested safe) safelight. Exception - area immediately around the enlarger, all of which leak at least a bit.

EDIT: Continued reading and I see that David and Sirius agree with me, and of course I with them. Well first time for everything, eh Sirius?
 
My darkrooms have always had white walls and ceilings but I hung black cloth on the areas around the enlarger.
