Stand Processing Test Results #1 of series

Here are the results from my first test.

FP4+
Rodinal 1:200 @ 68F
1 Min Initial agitation then stand for remaining time
(I'll get into greater detail with regards to the process when I'm finished with all of the tests) also, my paper ES is 1.01 Kodak Polymax :-(

N-2 16:00 minutes .34G EI-100
N-1 22:40 minutes .39G EI-125
N 46:50 minutes .48G EI-125
N+1/2 64:00 minutes .53G EI-160

These tests produce an upswept curve where the highs separate more with time.


My next two series of tests will consist of increasing initial agitation to 1:30min (keeping all else the same) then with a following test (using 1:00 agitation again) I will increase the temperature to 75F. Any predictions?

If you didn't derive your own PSP these tests may not produce the results you expect.

Don, my PSP is correct. I searched my notes and found the information I established when I did my initial btzs tests with regards to enlarger height, lens aperature, time etc. This info was established correctly when I first set out with the BTZS system. I am confident that the numbers are correct. That said, there is a lot of room for variation when you get two people metering a scene, two different shutters and lenses, two different agitators, to different ambient room temps and on and on. These numbers are going to get you as close as is humanly possible without doing the actual tests yourself. Besides, it will only cost you a sheet of film to try it! Thanks for your input.

next batch is in the soup and was agitated for 1:30 at the same temp. I also will have a 6th sheet for a total of 2hrs just to see what happens.
