Stand development for Arista EDU 400 w/ Rodinal?

I'm just getting into 4x5 development, using the mod45 development tank insert. Right now I'm working my way through a box of Arista EDU 400, with Rodinal. The standard 1+25 uses an impressive amount of Rodinal. I was thinking of trying stand development, has anyone tried this developer recipe? (Link below.) I don't mind some grain, as I'm just getting the hang of things and not trying to do anything too serious with it.

Rodinal needs X ml per X inches2 though I don't remember the amount off hand. You may be able to get away with 1+100 since you are developing only the equivalent of a roll and a half of film (six sheets?). I wouldn't stand develop though.

Stand devloping will work fine and 1:100 will be strong enough for several sheets. You may have to extend the time for more.

The issue with going with higher dilutions is you will lose some richness. If you have issues with ecconomy, pile up the amount of sheets to be developed at a time. You may want to try replinehed XTol as it should give great milage in that senerio.

I distrust that site and the times posted for that film are excessive.
Arista EDU is the same as the Fomapan films that I use a lot. 120 min semi-stand is going to produce very dense negatives. I've done that so I know the results.

You stated you wanted to do stand development.
With stand development there is only one time for ANY film: 1 hour.
Start with 30sec-1 min slow inversions and then leave the tank for one hour.
That's about it.

If you want to do conventional development using 1+100 you can!
Foma has the times for the Fomapan films.

Save it for the next time you use Arista EDU or Foma products.
Agitation method is initial 30 seconds then for 10 seconds every minute.
For Fomapan 400 it is 32-34 min.
In my experience 32 min is a good start.
And use water for stop bath. 3 re-fills and 10 inversions each time is enough.

You're correct, I did a semi stand dev. They came out a little dense maybe, but it's hard to tell in the dim light of my basement, I'll know in a bit. It's hard to tell though, as I could have also bodged the exposure being new to LF.

Sorry Bob, I thought you already knew that Arista EDU films are made by and are re-branded Foma films. So, you can use the Foma website anytime you use Arista EDU films.

Ah, I didn't! I'd heard somewhere that it's Tri-X, but wasn't sure.

So, pretty poor detail from the test shots today. My fixer is also going off and I left it in a bit longer than 2 hours. It didn't quite fix all the way and fine detail just isn't there.

I feel like I'll need to go through a few more iterations of this before I get anywhere, so I'm not too worried, but it will be nice to get a few really crisp photos out of this kit.
