I've just tested out stand developing a sheet of 4x5 Tmax 100 rated at 80 iso in a 1+100 dilution of Rodinal 30min + 30min and the negative looks great. I'd like to test PMK for another sheet to test but I cant find any dilutions or times online. Ive seen an article of Bostick & Sullivans for doing so with Pyrocat HD but Im not sure if it would translate to PMK.

Be sure to verify that you've got even development across the sheet. I've done all manner of stand and reduced agitation schemes from time to time, and in my experience, it's really tricky to get perfectly even development with agitation schemes that have longer periods than about 3-5 minutes. At a certain point, somewhat arcane factors like tank and reel geometry start to have a profound influence, making consistency hard to achieve.

Sorry to be of no help on the actual question; I don't use PMK. I'm sure someone must have tried it in stand/semi-stand with TMX though.

Thanks for getting back to me, I just read a few threads that TMax 100 doesn't do well in PMK so I just left another sheet standing in Rodinal as the last one turned out so well. I'll try it on some TriX instead .

I have used Pyrocat-HD for 20 years at various dilutons (depending on the film and contrast control) as well as stand/semi-stand. I find it to be more effective at semi and full on stand than Rodinal... but you have to be careful, in fact, I abandoned full on stand for most scenes. I decided to look into it more closely recently...

PMK is really finicky about agitation. I imagine that you'll end up with very unevenly-developed negatives if you try stand or semi-stand development techniques with PMK. I find I need to agitate every 30 seconds with PMK to avoid unevenness for at least the first half of the development time. An initial quick submerging of the film and a subsequent 30 seconds of initial agitation is also needed.

Pyrocat may be different in this regard. If you do try PMK, please post back. I'd be interested in hearing about your results.

PMK oxidizes relatively fast, so it would be better to use a very generous quantity in order to reduce the surface area to volume.

PMK ordinarily works fine with TMax; but I sure wouldn't recommend that combination relative to stand development.
