I develop my own black and white 127 film using an adjustable plastic reel. I absolutely hate it.
Not the developing part, the plastic reel part.
I've come across a stainless steel reel on eBay exactly once. It went for more than $40 and I just couldn't justify the cost. Now, I'm regretting it. I can't stand the flimsy plastic and the little rubber bearings.
So I thought I'd post a message here. Anyone know of a secret stash they might want to share?
Shipping from UK is likely to unpleasant, but if Retro has them, it might be worth checking if J&C has them. I don't recall seeing them, but they do sell 127 film, including B&W that's the most likely candidate for home processing.
I find plastic reels hopeless for 127 because they film is so curly.
SS reels are much better but try to find one which punches and bites the film end if possible. However any ss reel is better than the plastic.

If you have any desire to try Kodak 127 film developing aprons, I have two that I'll never use. I'd be happy to send them to you, for the cost of postage.
