I've sold my Deardorf. Have lots of 5x7, and 8X10 film development hangers that I need to sell (I'm keeping the 4X5 & 2X3). The ones that I use most often are still un-stained but the ones that have been used less often (who needs 50 8X10 hangers every day) have developed a black "corrosion" coating.

With a little work on the top rail of the hangers, the engraved 'Kodak stainless' is still there. Is there something that I can soak them in, perhaps glacial, that will remove the black 'corrosion'? No amount of scrubbing w/steel wool removes the 'stain' from all the nooks, holes, and crannies.

Help an old goat get rid of some of his stuff before ha has to move into assisted living!

Perhaps I can revise after this long week-end with a PIX or two

Go to a hardware store and look for metal cleaning stuff. They should be able to help you.
