In the last year or so, I have returned to developing with catechol. This has left a mess on the counter top in my downstairs bathroom...standard laminated particle board construction. While it's appearance doesn't really matter, I would like some suggestions for cleaning the brownish marks.

Thanks in advance.

What kind of bleach. Chlorine?

My wife swears by Zud. Powder in a shake can kind of like Bon Ami. Have you tried the Bon Ami stuff?

+1

Also Zud Cleaner as mentioned in another post. These two products contain sodium hydrosulfite a powerful reducing agent. Considering that the original stain was produced by oxidized catechol something like Chlorox might just make the stains worse. Make sure to clean up thoroughly after use as sodium hydrosulfite is a powerful fogging agent.
