I'm not sure where to post this video, as it deals with location, large format, film, exposure, development, and a little philosophy...
This little old church has been in continuous use since 1926. It's located just east of Kamloops, just off Trans Canada highway, in Monte Creek. Passing by it several times over the years, I've always wanted to photograph it... I finally got the opportunity, at the end of a long weekend mini-road trip. I only had one sheet of film left, and had to get it right...

Very nice story there—it's great to listen in on your thoughts about what you might have done differently. I do like the range of tones in that final image. Here on the eastern side of the continent, I couldn't help but be envious of your open vest and bare hands in this frigid moment!

Andy, I take it that this was a few months ago in Autumn -it looks to be a bit too balmy for January in Canada 🙂

The camera looked to be at an incredibly steep angle to even catch as much of the foreground as you did which shows how little I know about 8x10 work

It was our Thanksgiving long weekend, mid October. We have ours about a month before the US. By the way, I went outside just now with just a bunnyhug on (Saskatchewan word for "hoodie"), unzipped. Meanwhile my younger brother is freezing his butt off on the Canadian Prairie... 😄

Thanks, Andrew. It could be worse for your brother - if he has just come in from the Creeks at 50 below and sat down for a game of cards with Dan😄
