This little Anglican church is one of my favourite spots, nestled between the #1 Trans Canada highway, and the CPR mainline, just east of Kamloops...
Back in the darkroom, I made a Salt print. Salt prints seemed to have taken over my Alt time (except for carbon!). It's such an easy process, with a lovely look...

CatLABS 80. For pan film, it's about all I can afford in 8x10 these days

Very nice. I was trying to follow along with your mental calculations on exposure and the adjustments for the exposure given..........just curious, did you rate the film at the box speed of 80?

I expose this film at EI 32. It gives me a proper Zone I density, and more luminous shadows. I'm not sure why they give it an ISO of 80... That just gives me empty shadows.

Andrew, I watched this earlier today on my regular TV. It was a very nice day out, and the shots were nice. I noticed you leveled the standards after the first time you looked through the dark cloth. Was there a reason you didn't level the camera first, like rough lining the shot up first?

I usually rough level under the dark cloth without my little level, then come out and level it properly (unless I prefer the rough levelling!). Normally, in a situation like this, I'd also bring the front and rear standards to a vertical position, parallel with the building, but the Fujinon 180 just barely covers 8x10.

For anyone interested and willing to shop on Amazon, there are a couple of clear small levels similar to Andrews available. They can be found on ebay as well.

I have had that little level for over 30 years. I've never been able to find another one like it (I bought it when I lived in Japan at a camera store)... Do you have a link on Amazon or ebay? I've looked there but no luck... It would be nice to have a spare as I'm paranoid of losing it... Thanks!

I didn't realize it was magnetic. That may not matter. I think it is also available with blue liquid in the vials.

In your video, is it the image circle of that lens that prevented you from correcting the perspective?
