Recently, my local dealer had a stack of 35mm stainless steel development tank reels on sale for a ridiculously low price. I picked up a few, but found out when I got home why they had been priced so low. Their diameter is a tad larger than the Hewes reels I have, which I gather is pretty much the standard - just enough to make them not fit the tanks I have.

Could anyone here advise me on which tanks will fit these reels?

They fit the tanks that arent made any more, and can never be found either.

If they are really only very slightly larger, then perhaps you could try cutting off a bit of the outermost part of the spiral? (Cutting 1/4 or 1/2 of the circumference would land the new end at one of the "spokes" again). You'll need a good metal cutter, but this might enable you to use them with your existing tanks.

I seem to recall seeing Hewes SS reels to fit Jobo tanks, but I can't find them at B&H now. Such reels are likely to be wider, and have wider empty centers, than conventional SS reels. It's conceivable this is what you've got, although they could also be the slightly wider variety of SS reels designed for slightly wider SS tanks that others have mentioned. If the reels came in boxes or with an instruction sheet, it might provide a clue.

Hewes made two types. At least one of them is suppose to fit a regular SS tank. The two types are (1.) Original type that needed its own core for the Jobo, (2.) Later type that fits the plastic core so no special core needed. I don't have either but I think this is the info that I was able to fine on the subject.
