Anyone have any opinions on Sprint chemistry?

I got a nice hookup on their developer, stopbath, hypowash, and fixer and wonder if there are any big quirks to watch for.

hi there

i used to use the whole sprint system ( dev/stop/fix/fix-remove) for years. it is good stuff. all liquid stock solutions mixed 1:9 or 1:8. if you use the whole system, you can tell when your dev +fix are bad, when the indicator in the stop goes ( that is the "system" in the "sprint system of photography") the company was started by paul krot - a risd grad ... way back when. i haven't used their film or print developer in a while but have used their fix for 20+ years. their film developer is the same as d76 + id-11 but metol free. it is easy to mix, easy to use and capable of giving you good results. if you are ever in rhode island give them a call, they would be happy to give a tour of the plant on dexter ave (pawtucket-near providence). if you haven't been - checkout their website: http://sprintsystems.com/ if you have any questions, give them a call.

Sprint Film Developer isn't the same thing as D-76 only Metol-free.

If it's Metol-free it can't be very similar, chemically, to D-76.

I've used Sprint Print Developer and it works just fine. It will, however, give a bluish cast to some enlarging papers....Forte Polygrade V, for example.
