Spots on negatives

Hi, I have some spots on negatives that are not created by developer and are only in one frame in one roll and in one frame and partially in another on another roll. All other frames are fine. These are the only 2 rolls we have shot with this camera. Rolleicord IV. The images are all fine, spots are peculiar...

Any ideas?

Minus density on the negative I have never seen this before , will be interested to here the ideas that come from this thread.

Interestingly they are almost identical on each negative... I should run another roll through see what happens. It also happens early in the roll, frame 3 on one roll and frames 4 and 5 on the other. Not so much on frame 5.

How odd.

Are you sure they're not caused by the developer? To me, they look like air bubbles on the negative preventing the developer from acting.

They do, but they are so regular and in the same spot on the frame and on different rolls of film and not on any other rolls of film, either 35mm or 120. They look like little burn spots.

Could it be some drops of fix fell on the film before developing? That would depend on what sort of tanks you are using and your workflow.

I did have a problem once with TMAX dev. with air bubble spots, but they were tiny and all over the whole neg. AND they were black spots on the neg resulting in white spots on the image. These are white spots on neg. I haven't touched the TMax dev since.

Maybe, but wouldn't that be a more consistent problem? Each of these rolls were developed quite a time apart. Plus, the roll with photo of the guys, I also developed lots of other rolls consecutively in a day. Only on these negs was this issue.

They could be contaminants on the camera's ( pre-gate ) roller causing either a chemical change or even a shadow.

That could be. They are very regular round spots. How would I go about inspect/cleaning?

Meow7, from what I see in the two pictures presented in post 1 (IMG_0552 JPG - negative and Rolleicord-2-copy.jpg positive) faults I do not see them very similar.
In the image Rolleicord-2-copy.jpg the faults that appear perfectly round and very clear.
They do not seem to produce from film contamination or problems with the developer, which would cause malfunctions a bit diffuse.
You can inspect the negative with a magnifier.
You have nothing to clean up on the film.
In the defective area you have a lack of silver - you have nothing extra.
