Sorry for the rather cryptic and non-informative title, but I couldn't think of the right title for my question.

Can you split a C-41 developer kit that uses blix so that it makes separate bleach and fixer solutions? If so, would it amount to not mixing all the A, B, C (or whatever) solutions together into one, but altering the mixing so as to produce two solutions? If so, then what would be the mixing instructions?

Thanks.

One other thing. I have a similar question about E-6 kits.

No because the Bleach and Fixer solutions need to be balance correctly which won't be the case in a two part Bleach-fix (blix)

There are plenty of published formulae for separate Bleach and fixer baths so that is a more economical option, alternately just buy the individual solutions.

I know the tetenal kit comes in 2 packets of powder, you just have to separate those.. I asked this question a while ago and the answer was that the pH had to be adjusted to the correct levels but that it would work.

I have found that the Kodak E6 kit works just fine and it's relatively cheap to purchase chemistry in large quantities. I just buy a truckload and work through it a liter at a time.
