I just acquired a Speedotron D1602 power pack with 4 light heads. One MW3U, and three MW3R. Fires at all settings, test button works, fires with camera. Modeling lights have been replaced with what looks like clear Christmas/nightlight bulbs. Numbers on MW3R's make me think it is 1983 era.

Anyone using one of these?

Thanks

Mike

This appears to be a brown line, which I think is a lower level system than your blackline series.

Thanks

Yes, I believe the brownline doesn't have as many power settings but are still reliable workhorses.
Heads (reflector/speedring mounts) and cables are different as well.

Thanks for the info

Oh no prob.
If you have the space to adjust distance (rather than power) the brownline is an excellent (read: economical) way to get into studio/strobe work. Additional heads and accessories are dirt cheap because no one wants them. The light is every bit as good .

The go to peeps for repair is Flash Clinic in NYC but these are a bear to ship.

I don't know your experience level but I'll say it anyway…
be sure to familiarize yourself with proper safety procedures when using this or connecting/disconnecting cables and heads.
