Speed Graphic with Graflock back, range finder, Ektar 4.7 lens on board, synchro, instructions, spare lens board, three Graphic film holders. All the brightwork is in excellent condition, but the leather cover over the wood body is damaged on the back. Being the 'Speed' model, the camera has both a curtain shutter and lens shutter, with different speeds for precise exposure, and a back that accepts several attachments such as an enlarger head. I made many photos with its predecessor (destroyed in a fire) and really enjoyed its quick versatility compared to my folding view camera.
You pay packing and shipping from Las Cruces, NM.

It probably is a very good bargain. Apparently, the media has ordained that one cannot use the word "steal" or "loot".

I have a Crown but if I didn't, this would work pretty well. Some opine that the FP shutter is unreliable and adds weight. I have a baby Graphic inherited as my dad's first camera and I used the FP shutter many times with flash bulbs.

Serial # corresponds to 1949 That's about the time the Graflok became standard.
 
It is a Pacemaker Speed Graphic, you should list it that way. It would help sell it faster.
 
Drawing attention to the spring back: that means it would be unable to use most roll holders ... disadvantage vs cameras with Graflok backs.

Easy solution: shoot 4×5 sheet film, for which this camera was built.
 
I have a stripped down anniversary S.G. and I use the focal shutter, and G.Glass focus with a shutter-less lens in addition to clockwork lens shutter and it worked well enough for 4x5 Polaroid and 4x5 film.

If I did production work of any kind, that spring back would no be good enough, as roll films are often needed, however, I've been of the impression that a graflok back can be fitted to this camera.

After all, if you remove the spring back and wood molding, what's to prevent mounting the new back?
 

A new back would necessitate adjusting the rangefinder. Not easy.
 
Ahhh, that's something I did no even think about as I do no have those finders in my camera.

When introduced the Graflok back was an option. And the camera you're selling has a spring (Graphic) back. Got that? Spring back.
 
O wow. I'm looking for one if it is a bargain. Any sellers in Belgium perhaps?
 
This would be a fine field camera (with sheet film) as-is. I have all three (!) types as well as various roll film backs. I found the roll backs (which are OK on baby Graphics) nfg on 4x5 cameras and not as good as 6×9 sheet film on baby Graphics because those roll backs don't hold film as flat.

I received both of my speed graphics with spring backs. I converted both over too a graflok back. The adjustment of the rangefinder is a really easy process, just takes a few mins. But if one only plans on using dds’s the sping back is a nicer back i think. Its lighter weight smoother too use.

Swapping backs is easy. When I wanted to buy a complete used Graflok back at a reasonable price, I quickly learned that finding one isn't so easy. I must have missed something. Please clue me in.
 
I just buy a beater crown graphic and use the graflok from it. The pacemaker crown graphics seam to come with graflok backs where the speed graphics came with spring backs.
