Recently returned from a little R&R in SoCal. Among many other things, visited the Getty Center and the LA County Museum of Art in Los Angeles; and the Museum of Photographic Arts in San Diego. Saw some good photography at all three, but was particularly pleased with the MoPA in San Diego since I didn't even know it existed. Small place, but excellent examples from their permanent collection in addition to the special show. Recommended if you're in the area.

MoPA is pretty sweet. It is hard to believe it is in San Diego.

Now check out http://www.annenbergspaceforphotography.org/

If you park in Century City you can park for free. The downside is that The Annenberg Space for Photography is free and so you will not have to pay anything to see it. But it is better than a free lunch!

Cool! I'll have to get one next time I'm there. I live about 40 miles East of San Diego and visit Balboa Park a few times a year.

But they are in Los Angeles, not at Balboa Park, which as I recall is in San Diego.

The Museum of Photographic Arts is in Balboa Park. I make it a plan to always go there when visiting family in Encinitas. It's well worth the trip down the highway to San Diego.
