Hey all,

Sadly I've run into a snag with my Leica MP. I was in the midst of reloading and winding on film and something happened resulting in the transport locking up completely. Now my shutter and film advance are completed jammed. I'm 95% sure that the clutch mechanism slipped and that the transport gears are now out of alignment with the film advance gears. This should be a fairly straightforward thing to rectify.

Far less straightforward however is finding some tools to open the body up. In particular, brass or copper flexiclamps seem completely unavailable. All my searches tend to point to Micro-Tools, but they no longer offer the Leica repair kit, and only one size flexiclamp (for pre-M eyepieces). All of the cheap flexiclamps on ebay/amazon appear to be aluminium, which is not ideal.

I would also love to find the necessary split wrenches (pin spanners?) to safely remove the notched lock rings.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Mr nobbysparrow from ebay had been selling camera repair tools for a long time. Maybe you can check with him?

Also try jioxzhou, another eBay seller with specialized camera repair tools

Thank you! I will reach out to nobbysparrow. Unfortunately I cannot find an ebay user/store by the name of "jioxzhou". Is there a typo in there?

Sorry my smartphone being too smart, should be jiozhou.

Thanks once again. I see that Zhou has some flexiclamps, but they are stainless steel. I wonder if this would be risky to use in regards to marring the camera... anyone with any thoughts on this?
