So, after taking off my Power Winder, I discovered that I need the two bottom covers for the body. Does anyone know a source for these?

Did you check the winder to see if the old ones are stored there?

Other than a parts camera, i suggest checking other "t" "f" and "a" series Canons and see what fits, as I find it unlikely the maker would have used non-standart port covers to close off linkages common to those cameras.

Good Luck, Be Safe and Godspeed to you and your's.

I don't see a place for them. Is it inside the battery compartment? This F-1 winder is quite different from my Motor Drive MA.

You checked that you didn’t accidentally leave them screwed into the Motor Drive MA?

I used to see them regularly as sets of three on eBay. I don’t know if they were aftermarket replacements or original parts. If all else fails, there’s gaffer’s tape.

Right now, the Motor Drive MA has the bottom cover from my A-1 (which it's mounted to). The F-1 came used with the AE Power Winder FN attached. So, the camera did not have the two covers when I bought it from KEH several years ago (unless they're hidden somewhere in the Power Winder).

Earlier this year I needed some of those caps. I found them on eBay. In a pinch you can cover the holes with black electrician's tape. Two pieces over each hole should do it.

I suggest duct tape, with a layer of thin brass, or aluminum can between two layers, duct tape will allow light to pass, on it's own, and it's less likely to cause a gunky mess or slip off as even the best electrical tape can do.

I have this same set-up, and I suggest you open the battery cover on the FN winder, and look in from the top, down.

Right at the head of the batteries, where the cover pops off, between the camera wall/motor drive walls, there is a silver "U" shaped clip that is for one of the covers, if no both.

It's too easy to loose these covers, but you only need the one covering for the through hole, on the F1N AE camera.

Cheers.

They are. not common to any other Canon camera.

Darn it, David. You had me all excited that I might have them, but unfortunately the stowage site is empty. I may email KEH to see if they might have them.

The best source for these items is eBay, but the sellers always want an arm and a leg for them because they know how rare they are. If you buy a New F1 you should ensure these screws are present.

The correct term for what you are after is a rewind coupler cover, you stand a better chance of getting one if you know the correct name for it.
