I acquired a nice little Tachihara 4x5 field camera for an inexpensive price because it was "broken." The only thing wrong is a missing thumbwheel and t-slot bolt for locking down the rise/fall on the front standard. Anybody know of a source for these parts? I've already checked with Jim at Midwest Photo without success.

Try this contact from my old records:

Tachihara Professional Camera Works LTD
3-17-8 Toshima, Kita-ku,
Tokyo 114, Japan.
Phone: (03) 911-1794
Fax: (03) 914-0911
Both numbers could be out of date but their postal address hasn't changed...I think.

Tachihara as a matter of policy has avoided having an email number. Their web site disappeared a couple of years ago. Good luck!

If you aren't particular about looks, it would be fairly simple to make a part for this. If you want it to look something close to right, the Richard Ritter suggestion is better. A local machinist could also make a part based on the other side.
