Following the demise of Rayco Chemicals, can anyone suggest a source for raw chemicals here in the UK, other than Silverprint?

We can supply all non-hazmat raw chemicals worldwide. A number of our customers are located in the UK, and even with the shipping costs we can provide excellent value for quality. For more info please view the raw chemical listings at:

www.digitaltruth.com

All of our raw chemicals are supplied in tough plastic containers, so they are easy to store and dispense.

Last time I saw a mention of Rayco Chems was in Amateur Photographer a few months ago. This was a library copy as I don't subscribe, otherwise I'd dig it out.

As I recall it, someone from Derbyshire has taken it over on a part-time basis with the intention of re-establishing a website. It sounded as if he'd bought the right to continue calling it Rayco. As things then stood, the only way of contacing him was by phone. No e-mail as far as I recall. His number was given in the article.

It sounded as if he was starting from very modest beginnings and as if his range of chemicals was going to be limited as things stood. I wasn't very hopeful that anything like the old Rayco was going to be launched.

Can anybody cast anymore light on the new "Rayco"

This thread ((there was a url link here which no longer exists)) has some info and a 'phone number at the end.

Cheers, Bob.

Bob. Just did a quick check. A website called John Brewer Photography buys its products from the new Rayco owner David Jenkins. The John Brewer site carries his photo and suddenly I recognised it as the same John Brewer who is/was a contributor/subscriber on APUG although I haven't seen any very recent posts from John.

Maybe John can tell APUG what David stocks etc. The fact that an APUGer uses him is a good start.

David Jenkins took over Rayco Photographic Ltd some time ago. The current price list (Jan 06) is sadly a shadow of the former companys catalogue. I believe this is partly due to the tightening up of hazardous items that can be posted by regular Royal Mail.
